Successful completion of the PFS Case Study and Exam will satisfy the PFS credential examination requirement and demonstrate both the candidate’s knowledge and ability to communicate comprehensive financial concepts.

·         The PFS exam tests the candidate’s comprehensive financial planning knowledge on the detailed areas presented in the PFS Exam Content Specification Outline. 

·         The PFS case study allows the candidates to apply their knowledge in real-life situations in a manner that demonstrates and reinforces their communication skills.

Program details:  The PFS Case Study and Exam beta program offered in 2008 received very high reviews and is scheduled again from December 7-10, 2009.  The PFS exam is a 200 question six-hour comprehensive exam.  The PFS case study is a comprehensive personal financial planning case study hosted by the financial planning department at Texas Tech UniversityIt is offered in a relaxed environment that allows discussion and collaboration with your peers and feedback and evaluation of your proposals and by both instructors and peers.  This is truly an advanced education opportunity and will challenge you regardless of you experience.  Here are the specifics:

1 day proctored PFS Exam followed by a 3 day interactive case study

Located at the AICPA’s Lewisville, TX office

To be held December 7-10, 2009

Candidates will be responsible for their own travel arrangements and expenses

Special offer for PFS Credential holders:  As seats are available, you can attend the case study portion of the program in Dallas from December 8-10, 2009 as an advanced education course with 26 CPE hours.  The 2008 Beta attendees gave this program a high review.  The cost of the overall program is discounted by $300 ($1300 earlybird total cost) and the PFS Sponsorship does not apply to the case study by itself.
